Follow the steps below to get your X5 ready before stepping onto the first tee.
Step 1: Power On Your Watch
-
Press and hold the crown button (top right) until the X5 logo appears on the screen.
Step 2: Access the Main Menu
-
Press the crown button again or swipe up on the touchscreen to access the main menu.
-
Select ‘Play Golf’ by either tapping the screen or turning and pressing the crown button to confirm.
Tip: Start your round just before arriving at the 1st tee. This prevents the watch from recording swings or putts during your warm-up.
Step 3: Choose a Round Mode
After selecting ‘Play Golf’, you'll be prompted to choose a round mode:
-
GPS + Track – Tracks shots and collects performance data.
-
GPS Only – Displays distances but doesn’t track shots.
Tap your preferred option or press the crown to confirm.
Step 4: Connect to GPS and Select a Course
-
The watch will now search for a GPS signal (this may take a few minutes, especially on first use).
-
Once GPS is locked, a list of nearby courses (within 1km) will appear. The three closest will be shown first.
-
Scroll through the list using the crown dial or touchscreen and select your course.
Step 5: Select Your Tee Set
-
Depending on the mode chosen, you’ll be prompted to select the tee set you’re playing from.
-
Scroll through the list and confirm your selection with the touchscreen or crown button.
-
If your tee set isn’t listed, choose the closest available option. You can adjust this later in the app after your round.
Step 6: Enable Scoring (Optional)
-
You’ll be asked whether you’d like to keep score during your round.
-
This feature can be toggled on or off in the watch’s settings menu.
