Follow the steps below to start a round:
Step 1: Turn on your X5 watch by pressing the crown (top right button) until you see the X5 logo appear.
Step 2: Press the crown button or swipe up on the touchscreen to access the main menu. In this menu you can select ‘Play Golf’ by tapping on the touchscreen or using the crown to confirm a selection.
We suggest that you start a round just prior to arriving at the 1st tee. This means the watch won’t record data from swings and putts during your warm-up.
Step 3: Before playing, X5 will prompt you to select one of two different round modes. After pressing 'Play Golf' you will be asked to confirm which mode you wish to use. You can choose between: GPS + Track and GPS only mode. Tap on the screen or press the crown button to select an option.
Once a mode has been selected the watch will then search for a GPS signal, it should get a fix within a few minutes but will be slightly longer the first time you use the watch. The watch will then display a list of available courses; use the crown dial or the touchscreen to navigate to the correct course and confirm your selection by tapping on the screen or pressing the crown button.
Step 4: The X5 will display any golf courses within 1km of you. The nearest three will be displayed on screen and you can scroll to view other nearby courses. Select the course you would like to play by tapping the touchscreen or pressing the crown button.
Step 5: Depending on which golf mode is selected, you will have to confirm which tees you are playing off. Scroll through the list until you see the correct selection, tap on the screen or use the crown button to confirm the selection. If your tee set is missing, select one of the available tee sets and this can be altered in the app after the round.
Step 6: X5 will prompt you to choose whether you want to add your score while playing the round. Scoring can be toggled on/off in the settings menu.
